Route 1
El Vellón – Atalaya – El Espartal
It joins the two main population centers of the Municipality: El Vellón and El Espartal.
The distance of this route is approximately 7 km. The path runs from the Plaza Mayor de El Vellón, through a cattle route called Camino de Talamanca. We will find a watering hole, after which there is a path that will lead us to the Arab Atalaya (Watchtower) of the ninth century, built in the time of Abderramán III, which is the most representative cultural value of the Municipality, and to the source with spring wáter under a limestone molar near the Watchtower. Then we will take a small agricultural road, which will lead us to the center of El Espartal, where we will finish at the Church Square.
